My theme service was 'started' but 'stopping' and then 'starting' it solved the issue, without having to navigate to luna. Changing theme or photo doesn't fix it. If you do need to install fonts, just drop the included font files -- in .ttf format -- into the following folder: C:\Windows\Fonts Once you have a theme installed, you can when I downloaded the registry fix, everytime I reboot my PC it goes back to Windows Classic. this was so helpful!

This thing was driving me crazy. Patching Your System Files RELATED ARTICLEHow to Get Classic-Style Themes Back on Windows 8 or 10 Windows checks if themes are signed by Microsoft before loading them. Create a new folder here, name it SlanXP2, and drag the SlanXP2.msstyles file into this new folder. If it is grayed-out, no picture is chosen to appear, you have a picture, so it should be there, and functional.
