If your TV cards audio is going through the line-in input on your soundcard make sure that record is set to Line In. Perhaps the latest PCTV drivers/software might help (link)?

If you have done this, check in the volume control of sound card to see if line-in has not been muted or turned right down. The drivers actually give you better choice over sound control then the originals.

If it's an external one make sure that the audio cable goes into the "Line In" socket and not the ""Microphone" socket. I hope you won't mind if I add another problem into the forum but I wasn't sure how to start a new string. If that works, it just means that you have to make that adjustment as I mentioned.
