My computer screen appears without any DVD or cd drive icon. I changed connections cables, it worked for a time. This worked for me as well. I avoid Microsoft site like the plague - they don't speak English at Microsoft - it is some kind of alien language totally devoid of intuitive thinking! That usually does NOT require a setting to close the disk as it IS a disk image. Don't forget to ground yourself to the case prior to installation. Uninstalling the driver and restarting the computer will reinstall the driver which will resolve most issues related to the device driver.
