Problem With Old Dell Dimension 4600

We have replaced one of the computers but I would like to fix it for our Sunday School kids to use. If they do they bulge or leak at the top or bottom like this: https://www.google.ca/search?q=bad+...ved=0ahUKEwjglefMlcLNAhUp04MKHYD2AoMQ_AUIBigB Triple6, Jun 24, 2016 #4 texasbullet Ramon Joined: Jun 11, 2014 Messages: 1,279 then test Did you reinstall XP fresh on the SC440? Called DELL..of course the unit is out of warranty...they did diagnose a dead power supply. Verify that all power cords are properly connected before attempting to replace the power supply. https://forums.techguy.org/threads/problem-with-old-dell-dimension-4600.1173476/

When your tractor breaks or your cell phone stops working, they want to be the only people who can fix it. But manufacturers like John Deere and Apple don’t like that idea. Not a bad deal and I didn't even have to speak to Dell's "award-winning" support. So far, they’ve managed to stop Fair Repair legislation before your representatives get a chance to vote on it.

Let me know if I should repost this as a fresh thread. The support site lists it as ATA100 which is IDE. I would not recommend the 64bit XP, You would need more ram to run the same apps in 64bit vs 32bit. https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/power-supply-problem-with-dell-dimension-4600-131500/ I couldn't believe how much dust was inside there!

Since the 4600 is a Pentium 4, it apparently works so hard to power everything, that it fries the PSU.
