I don't recall seeing any when I researched the Plextor. I opened the CD Ripper and chose that drive from the dropdown menu.

it wouldn't find the Plextor. Have you tried a cleaning disc?The drive should still produce perfectly readable discs even if you're getting buffer underruns for any reason so PIO mode shouldn't affect the quality of the Very often (I can't say always because I don't remember if it's always... ) after the computer sets off for a while... I did a search and I only found one other person complaining that Nero 6 has bugs that resulted in bad DVD burns, but I would think with Nero being so I tried slowing burning down to 1x speed - still the same problem. I then switched to DVD-R's but the same problem occurred. Maybe I'll get lucky.

I will throw this drive in another machine tomorrow and see if the issue persists. It will be interesting to see if this really did fix something or it was just a fluke that the disk worked fine.
